Tryout Dates

Blue Ridge Volleyball Association is thrilled to hold the above tryouts for our travel teams. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to check-in and ensure that you are ready to play! We will host a quick parent meeting to review the tryout process and answer any questions.

What do you need to Tryout?

1. Determine your player's age group (USAV Age Definition) and identify the tryout date/time listed above.
2. Complete the CHRVA medical release form.
3. Register for tryouts: https://volleyballlife.com/tournament/23375?tab=information
4. Bring a copy of the player's USAV membership, membership is required in order to participate and tryout. USAV cost $55 and this covers any team in the CHRVA region. If you would prefer, there is a $20 option which covers tryouts only and then you can upgrade if selected by a team.
5. Bring knee pads and water bottle.

Tryout and Offer Process

BRVA coaches will evaluate each prospective player and make written offers by email.  Our region requires all offers remain open until Tuesday 10pm. Do not cave to pressure from other club coaches. We adhere to this policy. In an attempt to make this process easier on the parents and kids, we will get our offers out ASAP:

1. Blue team offer

2. Orange team offer, waitlisted for Blue

Acceptance or Decline

We understand that travel volleyball is a big commitment for a player and their families and we want our BRVA players to be confident in their choice.  For some players, BRVA will be their first choice and will accept the offer immediately.  For others, they may wait until they have had an opportunity to tryout for other clubs.  We understand that and want you to be happy at BRVA.

Once an offer is made, we ask that you accept or decline in writing/email.  If you decline we want to be able to offer the spot to another player in a timely fashion.  

* USAV Membership

BRVA is a member of the Chesapeake region which requires USAV membership prior to tryouts. USAV cost $55 and this covers any team in the CHRVA region. If you would prefer, there is a $20 option which covers tryouts only and then you can upgrade if selected by a team.

 * AAU Membership

Because BRVA plays in large AAU-affiliated tournaments, our players are required to have an AAU membership if chosen by a team. This is not due prior to tryouts.
