We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in these unprecedented times. After much consideration, we have made the tough decision to cancel the remainder of our indoor season. This was not easy but after multiple discussions and USAV updates, we feel this decision is in the best interest of our players, coaches and parents. We will begin the refund process this week. Refunds will be different per team, per age group. The refund will consist of three components: tournament entry fees not played, coaches hotel expenses for any overnight tournaments and a portion of the coaches salaries for the remainder of the season. Separate team emails will be sent, as we work through the details of those refunds. If you have any questions on how this will work, please feel free to email, text or call me directly.
So what does this mean for beach? Beach tryouts will be scheduled the moment restrictions are lifted in the Parks and Rec. The costs and duration of the season will completely depend on when we can start. We are optimistic we can salvage a beach season, especially with precautions in place at practices and tournaments. Even if it’s a limited season, we’ve seen the value of beach and the growth in those kids that play. We will maximize whatever season we can with a goal towards Nationals in July.
It’s been great to see all the videos of teammates. Keep working on your game. Whether you are preparing for beach, high school or your next travel season, keep working. There are plenty of opportunities to improve your individual skills and stay ready for that next game. It’s great to see our BRVA family and volleyball community. Keep those videos coming. Stay tuned for upcoming summer plans. We are planning a lot of open gyms, camps, skills clinics as well as the previously mentioned beach program throughout the summer. We miss you all and hope to see you soon.
